Park gets Wiggly with new amusement area
"They went from being an Australian children's music group to a universal kiddy-rock sensation with songs such as 'Fruit Salad' and 'Hot Potato.' Now the Wiggles -- Anthony, Sam, Jeff and Murray -- will have their own section of a New Jersey theme park. Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson is scheduled to open a new Wiggles-themed area on April 2, with rides, merchandise and a restaurant named for a Wiggles album -- the Yummy Yummy Café. Six Flags New England and Chicago are also opening Wiggles World sections this year, said group member Murray Cook, known to fans as the red Wiggle for the color of his hair and his shirt." German theme park to bring SpongeBob to life
"Soon children will be able to meet SpongeBob SquarePants in his own world rather than just watching the yellow sea sponge cartoon character on television. Nickelodeon, the children's multi-media entertainment brand owned by Viacom Inc, has agreed a deal to set up a 15,000 square-meter adventure park in Germany where its most popular characters will be brought to life. 'Nickland' will be situated at Movie Park Germany, close to Dortmund in western Germany, and is set to open in April, Nickelodeon and Movie Park Germany said in a statement on Tuesday." Payment made on proposed amusement park
"Developers of a proposed amusement park in south DeKalb County [Georgia] have made a $500,000 payment required under a federal bankruptcy plan to continue the project. Top Flight Development Group made the first debt installment on Tuesday to its debtor, Lithonia Commercial Lender, as part of a $6.3 million loan on which the developers defaulted last year, according to officials for Top Flight and Lithonia Commercial."
