Last season, Indiana Beach Amusement & Camp Resort unveiled their wild new roller coaster: The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain. For the 2003 season, Indiana Beach revitalized the ride further to create a whole new experience for all adventurers to the park's Boardwalk Funway.

"When Superstition Mountain was originally opened, it was a very unique ride which mixed elements of a roller coaster, a mine ride, and a themed dark ride," states Tom Spackman, Jr., of Indiana Beach. "Last year, with the new wood coaster track, it became a dynamic thrill ride and one of the wildest wooden coasters anywhere. Now, with extensive theming and stunts we've put in place, as well as an overall refinement job to the mountain itself, The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain is once again a very unique ride mixing many various elements."

Wild animals, falling rocks, and many other thrills and features have been added to the high-speed ride. With surprises waiting around each of The Lost Coaster's unparalleled tight turns, there are even some old friends waiting in the tunnels. "Dynamite Willie," states Spackman, "who many of our past guests will remember guarding his gold in the mine, has returned to help ensure that The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain has an explosive comeback."

The additional theming was only one enhancement to Superstition Mountain for the upcoming season. "We've taken the time and re-tracked much of the ride," adds Spackman. "The ride is the most unique wooden coaster in the world and one of the wildest, but we have made every effort to smooth out the ride so that it is an enjoyable ride for even more of our guests and a little more faithful to the original Superstition Mountain."

The ride, nicknamed "LoCoSuMo," has already officially been declared a hit with amusement park and roller coaster enthusiasts. Not only has The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain frequently appeared on ThemeParkCritic.com's Top 25 Rides in the Country list, but users of Coasterbuzz.com have also dubbed the ride "...the sleeper hit of 2002." With the 2003 renovations, The Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain is destined to be one of the finest wooden roller coasters in the country, upholding its role as a remarkable ride and attraction for all to enjoy.
